Profligate Waste, Umbrella,
Umbrella Carcass
A photograph is, simply, an opportunity to record something before it changes. I am attracted to discarded umbrellas as a subject for photography because of the opportunity for uniqueness. These mantis-like objects lie defeated in the roads and on the sidewalks, sometimes dancing, other times stuffed like needless paperwork into garbage cans and crevices of public space. -mt |
